Making a difference in homelessness through social impact bonds: Our work 2014 – 2017

Anyone who lives in a city or town cannot have failed to see more people living on the streets; there are now over 4,000 people sleeping rough, up from 1,800 people in 2010.

Numbers for Good was delighted to play a role in developing and bringing together the GM Homes Partnership – a collaboration between three homelessness charities, two housing associations and social investor – which is delivering a social impact bond (SIB) seeking to tackle rough sleeping in Manchester.

GM Homes Partnership marks a small landmark for Numbers for Good, representing the fifth homelessness SIB we’ve developed in the last three years. We’ve pulled together some of the highlights of our work in the infographic below.

While the problem is far from being solved, there are brilliant organisations seeking to solve this problem, and we hope to work with many more in 2018. We’re really proud to have partnered with some of these organisations, and have been humbled by their commitment, tenacity and willingness to fight for the homeless people excluded and forgotten by society.
